Jorge Paulo Agostinho Mendes was born in Lisbon, on January 7, 1966.
FIFA agent, he founded Gestifute, Career Management for Sports Professionals, in 1996.
In 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 he was considered the Best Agent in the World, an award given by Globe Soccer, as a result of the votes collected from the other entrepreneurs recognized by FIFA (EFAA) and European football clubs (ECA).
In 2012 he was awarded by the Portuguese Government with the Collar of Honor for Sports Merit, in recognition of his competence, dedication, work capacity and entrepreneurial spirit, which make him the most successful sports entrepreneur in the world.
In 2009 and 2012 Gestifute was considered by the Futebol Finance portal the largest player agency in the world and Jorge Mendes the most successful player agent in the world.
In 2018 he received the Innovation in Sport Award, an award instituted for the first time by the Web Summit, in recognition of Jorge Mendes' significant impact on the world of sport throughout his career.
In 2022 he was distinguished by Liga Portugal with the Merit Award for the contribution he has made to the affirmation of Portugal in the showcase of world football.
Jorge Mendes has starred over the years in some of the biggest transfers in the world.
